MFA Thesis Exhibitions
University Galleries of Illinois State University will present the 2022 MFA Thesis Exhibitions from March 8 through April 4, 2022. All events are free and open to the public.
2022 MFA Thesis Exhibitions features eight simultaneous solo exhibitions by Master of Fine Arts students in Illinois State’s Wonsook Kim School of Art: Nicci Arnold, Japheth Asiedu-Kwarteng, Aca Carle, Sargylana Cherepanova / sargɯlaana cerepanɔba, Peytin Fitzgerald, Priscilla Kar Yee Lo, Emma Oliver, and Richard Oliver Reed.
The exhibitions are the culmination of the students’ research during their three-year program. In addition to writing a thesis and creating their artwork, each student develops their own exhibition plan, installs their work, and writes their accompanying labels. University Galleries is thrilled to partner with the Wonsook Kim School of Art to offer graduating MFA students this opportunity for professional development.
Events and programming
All events and free and open to the public.
- Friday, March 18, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Meet the artists at an exhibition reception
- Saturday, March 26, from noon to 2:00 p.m. Family artmaking workshop. Materials and instruction provided by University Galleries’ staff. Free and no reservations required.
- Field trip program, curator-led tours, and workshops are available by appointment throughout the exhibition. Stipends are available for K-12 schools or community organizations to offset the costs of transportation. Please contact University Galleries at gallery@ilstu.edu or (309) 438-5487 to schedule an appointment.
University Galleries
University Galleries, a unit in the Wonsook Kim College of Fine Arts, is located at 11 Uptown Circle, Suite 103, at the corner of Beaufort and Broadway streets. Parking is available in the Uptown Station parking deck located directly above University Galleries—the first hour is free, as well as any time after 5:01 p.m.
