Color lithograph with glitter
46 x 34 inches
A color lithograph of a Vaquero (Spanish for “cowboy”) riding a bucking horse. The man is dressed in a yellow button-up shirt, white chaps, brown cowboy boots, and a wide-brimmed yellow hat that rests on top of his short wispy brown hair. His face is stern with a big brown mustache and thick bushy eyebrows. His right hand (to the viewer’s left) grips the horse’s saddle. His left arm (to the viewer’s right) is raised in the air holding a pistol as if firing it into the air. The horse’s rear legs are slightly lifted. Its head is bowed down as it breathes out a large billow of air highlighted in yellow, red, and green. Its wispy mane resembles fire. Text behind and above the cowboy reads “Vaquero” in bold red that is outlined in yellow.
